A great week in a beautiful part of the Peleponese. Takis was very friendly and helpful, and was on hand to sort out an anchor windlass problem within an hour. The boat could benefit from a refit and a few minor repairs, but was otherwise serviceable.
The boat is in good condition for its age and type and Takis is super helpful. She sails well with newish sails and main ropes, the steering under sail is lovely. The reported leak was not there, I think it may have been a water tank which Takis is in the process of sorting out ... we survived on one tank for 5 days but run out in the final afternoon with 4 on board. The boat has a step in the passageway by the oven which could benefit from a hazard strip in a different colour. Anchoring setup good with no problems with the chain going in and out but would benefit from some depth marks if you wanted to layout more or less than 40m where the chain changes. No holding tank. Dinghy engine starts easily but uses a lot of fuel so fill it up from the spare tank if in doubt. Berth is easy to get in and out even for a poor parker like me. New plotter with touch is nice and rest of electronics fine. Accomodation as expected for the size and age of boat, fresh sheets and towels. Saloon table fixed so sleeping in saloon a bit awkward. The area is lovely to sail, the Mani peninsula is spectacular but look at the pilot book or Navily to see that anchorages will need to be picked carefully based on weather and have limited services
We liked this boat very much. We had a nice week in the golf of Kalamata with a lot of sailing, swimming and turtles. We will definitely come back.
Takis was a careful skipper with a lot of humour, who showed us the best beaches and places. We spent some exciting and beautiful days with him!
Takis, who checked in with me, is a very friendly and accommodating person. The boat itself is old and technically in need of an overhaul. On the 2nd day of our charter the autopilot failed and the 2nd toilet stopped working. The final sheet was totally calcified. We dismantled the pipe and removed a lot of limescale, after which the toilet was usable again. In the engine compartment, 20 liters of backwater of unknown origin collected every day. Takis the owner didn't know what to do either and so we had to pump the water out of the bilge ourselves via a sewage pipe every day. Unfortunately, various lamps did not work either because the inserts were hanging out. Strictly speaking, you are not allowed to charter the boat like this
