Cruise in the Leeward Islands, French Polynesia. Early October 2022 (October 3 to 13); boat Leopard 43, year 2002. The boat lost its mast during a previous charter, a few days before the start of our cruise. Philippe, the owner, promised us the moon to compensate and make us agree to sail on a sailboat without a mast (with a motor). We were stuck, because it is the high tourist season in Polynesia and all the boats are booked, often a year in advance... so we accepted: we had just arrived in Tahiti and Philippe's proposals seemed convincing... and we had no alternative solution(s). In the end, not many moons and even fewer wonders, and a lot of unfulfilled promises. Philippe's communication and reliability are, at best, mediocre. We have been trying to obtain financial compensation for 3 months from Philippe and Click&Boat; the logic being that the cost of renting a sailboat without a sail should be lower than that of a sailboat with a sail... this argument does not seem to convince either the owner (Philippe) or the Customer Service of Click&Boat ... for the moment. We could have thought that Click&Boat would play a moderating/arbitrating role in the settlement of this dispute; This is not the case with regard to the private conversations between the owner of the boat (Philippe) and Mickael (Customer Service of Click&Boat)... All this is very disappointing (understatement)!
