How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Croatia?

A boat charter in Croatia is a great way to explore the beautiful Adriatic Sea. There are many different factors that affect the price of a charter, such as the type of boat, the length of the rental, and the number of people.

The type of boat is one of the most important factors in determining the price. Catamarans are typically more expensive to rent than other types of boats, but they offer a unique experience. Catamarans are stable and spacious, and they provide ample opportunity to enjoy the scenery and sunbathe on deck.

The length of the rental also affects the price. Rentals can be short-term, such as for a day or weekend, or long-term, such as for a week or month. Longer rentals will generally be more expensive than shorter ones.

Finally, the number of people staying on board also affects the price. A charter for two people will typically be less expensive than one for four people. Keep all these factors in mind when budgeting for your next boat rental in Croatia!

The harbors in Croatia

There are plenty of reasons to charter a catamaran in Croatia. The country has over 1,000 islands, meaning there are many sheltered coves and anchorages to explore. The coastline is also dotted with picturesque harbors and marinas, making it the perfect place to moor up and enjoy some time on dry land.

Here are some of the best harbors and marinas for chartering a catamaran in Croatia:

  • Dubrovnik Old Town Harbor is located within the walls of the city's ancient fortifications. It's a beautiful setting, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for when you want to come ashore.
  • If you're looking for a modern marina with all the facilities, ACI Marina Dubrovnik is the place for you. It's situated just outside the city walls, so you can still enjoy all that Dubrovnik has to offer, but with the added bonus of a swimming pool, spa, and fitness center on-site.
  • Split is another must-visit destination in Croatia, and Split Harbor is the perfect base for exploring the city and its surroundings. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the area, as well as a lively nightlife scene. The harbor is also close to some of Split's most popular attractions, such as Diocletian's Palace and Marjan Hill.
  • Hvar Town Harbor is one of the busiest in Croatia, but it's still a great spot to moor up your catamaran. There's always something going on in this lively town, whether it's live music in one of the bars or simply people-watching from one of the cafés that line the harborfront.
  • Vrboska Harbor is a lovely spot on the island of Hvar, away from the hustle and bustle of Hvar Town. It's a peaceful place to drop anchor and spend a few days exploring the island, with plenty of hiking trails starting from right by the harbor.

Renting a catamaran with or without a skipper

If you're considering renting a catamaran in Croatia, you may be wondering whether to go with a skipper or not. There are advantages and disadvantages to both options.

Renting with a skipper means that you'll have someone who knows the waters well and can help you navigate. You'll also have somebody on hand to help with any problems that may arise. On the other hand, it can be more expensive and you may not have as much freedom when it comes to choosing your itinerary.

Bareboat chartering gives you more freedom and flexibility, but it also means that you'll be responsible for navigation and any problems that come up. This option is typically less expensive, but it's important to make sure you're comfortable with the risks before you commit.

Ultimately, the decision of whether to rent with or without a skipper is up to you. Consider your budget, comfort level, and desired itinerary when making your decision.

When is the best time to go?

The high season runs from June to August which coincides with the sailing season (May to September), giving sailors plenty of vitamin D and swimming opportunities! Spring and Autumn feature cooler temperatures but the crowds are fewer so this is also a great time for your yacht charter. There are occasional showers with temperatures varying from 71°F to 82°F in the springtime, whereas the temperatures in summer can peak at86°F.

The wind force is generally 3-4 with a north-westerly direction in the summer.
