Our recent adventure on a family-run sailing boat, the Renaissance, in the Caribbean Sea around the San Blas Islands in Panama was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the ocean in San Blas felt like paradise on earth. The crystal-clear waters and stunning landscapes were breathtaking, offering us a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Each island we visited was more beautiful than the last, making it impossible not to fall in love with this magical place. We initially considered staying on land at San Blas islands. However, all the San Blas Islands are owned by indigenous in Panama, and the accommodations are very basic—some even lacking electricity. Instead, we decided to stay on the sailboat, which allowed us to explore the San Blas Islands comfortably. We were thrilled to find a spacious 73-foot sailboat to cruise us around for island hopping. The Renaissance exceeded all our expectations! Equipped with a desalination generator, it provided us with fresh water of much better quality than the tank-delivered water from the islands—definitely a highlight for our comfort. One of the best parts of our journey was the food. The onboard chef was incredibly accommodating, preparing gourmet dishes based on our last-minute requests for a low-carb, high-protein diet. Every meal featured freshly caught seafood from local fishing boats, and we felt like we were dining in a high-end restaurant every night! The boat had plenty of space, with various areas to relax and unwind. Whether we wanted to bask in the sun or find a cozy nook to read, there was always a perfect spot. The Morgan family were amazing hosts—friendly, easygoing, and incredibly accommodating to all our requests. Their chilled vibe made us feel right at home. Captain Morgan, with his wealth of experience and knowledge about the islands, guided us to some of the most stunning spots, making our sailing experience truly memorable. We highly recommend the Renaissance sailing boat for anyone looking for an incredible adventure in San Blas. We can’t wait to return and create more unforgettable memories with the Morgan family!
Amazing people. Happy to have you back any time.
The experience and stay on the Petra Sailboat was incredible! We spent some incredible days, the food they prepared for us was excellent, and the friendly treatment and kindness of the crew were particularly noteworthy. The sailboat has all the necessary amenities. Without a doubt the best experience of our trip. We would repeat with them without hesitation.
Great people, welcome back any time.

We are a family of four living full-time onboard our sailboat. For the past 10 years we have sailed North and Central America. Morgan is a professional captain and has worked in the yachting industry for 12 years and also has a background in hospitality. He speaks French, English and Spanish. Petra is a culinary trained chef and has 20 years experience in hospitality, catering, the yacht industry and as a private chef. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Swedish. Our two younger crew members are a 7 years old girl and a 9 years old boy. They are raised onboard and know everything about boating life and how to get busy onboard, in the water and on the islands. They are very social and outgoing. They also speak four languages!
