Very unprofessional and very disappointing. People who wait for us didn’t speak English, they was totally confused about procedure in captaincy. Boat general is not in bad condition but we had so many “small” problems enough to make you nervous and unhappy at vacation. Now I’m not angry anymore but I don’t want let any other to have same experience, this is the message for owners, fix problems before you let the boat charter.
Good morning, As much as I enjoyed being at sea with this boat in very good weather conditions (the Sporades are magnificent), I did not like bailing out in the bowl (no bailer on board) more than 200L of water sweet full of oil in the engine compartment, as much as I did not appreciate the return of the boat with the clear feeling of a breach of confidence without response to my previous email and without reimbursement of the overpayment from Chrysostomos for the diesel while we adapted our cruise by taking and returning the boat in a small port with no possibility of refueling, I did not appreciate the handling with instructions until half past midnight on the first evening (after a long transport day since 4 a.m....), and resumed for more than 4 hours the next morning, ranging from minor problems to minor problems, including the boat's engine without oil (and it was I who discovered it, otherwise we would break - at our expense? - the engine! We were finally able to leave, exhausted, with a non-functional dinghy engine which forced us to stop for the first time in a port to give the said engine to be repaired, and to pick it up the next day in the middle of the morning (times imposed)... My final feeling is that I was taken in by 100 euros, and he had promised to reimburse me quickly with the fuel bill in support, and more than 15 days later I'm still waiting, and no response from him to my email when he was very responsive before the rental... It does not smell honesty, and yet I am by nature confident... I strongly advise against this rental company! Copy of my email after the rental: Hello Chrysostomos, To date, I have no news from you following our rental last week. You have kept 250 euros in cash corresponding to: - 100 euros for the cleaning fee as initially planned - 50 euros for the saloon porthole handle - 100 euros for refueling (because I had to return the boat at your request in an area that does not allow refueling) and you had to send me the proof of purchase of the diesel and reimburse me for the overpayment (around 10 engine hours during the week, i.e. 20-30L, the gauge still being above 4/4 when we left). I haven't received anything so far! You have argued, through a third party since you were not present at the return of the boat, the fact that you had left the boat with us on Friday evening instead of Saturday 5 p.m. as initially planned. However, we arrived around 10:00 p.m. in Kala Nera (instead of Volos, 30 minutes by car earlier than in Athens where we had come from), and the boat was not ready. You did part of the getting started with us until 12:30 a.m. (with Google translation...), before returning at 8:00 a.m. for the rest of the getting started, which lasted until 1:00 p.m. due to many problems on the boat that we pointed out to you (dinghy engine not starting, cockpit table partially broken, no oil in the boat's engine (!), etc.). Boat which was therefore not ready to sail when you told us that we were the first tenants of the year... I had to help you fill up the containers because it was not done (accompaniment at the station, I poured the 70 L in cans, one by one, into the boat's tank). Then, we had to make a stopover in Agria Kiriaki so that someone could pick up the engine from the dinghy in order to repair it and bring it back to us the next day. We therefore had no choice of this first stopover and had to wait for the return of this person before being able to set sail the next day to really begin our cruise. After 3 days, I had to evacuate more than 200L of fresh water from the engine hold, probably in connection with a leak from the deck shower. There was still some fresh water coming into this compartment (but just a few litres) as we tightly closed the deck shower valve after every quick use. We thought that these many inconveniences would be taken into consideration on your side because they largely compensated for the effective 3 hours that we gained following YOUR proposal to embark the evening before, and that you would have quickly contacted us to refund the overpayment for diesel (about 50 euros minimum). We returned the boat to you in its original state, clean despite the imposed cleaning fee, and the only small breakage (saloon porthole handle) was immediately reported to us. I now expect a very quick resolution from you with a message and a quick refund, supporting the fuel bill. I count on your honesty and hope that the trust I have placed in you will be confirmed. I wish you have a nice day."
