Rent a boat without licence in Ibiza

You can find license-free boats available to rent in Ibiza on the Nautal website. Flexible cancellation or date changes up to 15 days before check-in is possible with selected boats; check the conditions established by each owner. Ibiza is a very popular holiday destination for those who appreciate beauty by both day and night. Ibiza is colourful and its inhabitants have their own style, which adds a certain magic to this island. It is undoubtedly known for its lively nightlife and stunning sunrises, but that's not all this unique and exciting island has to offer. During the day you can expect to experience the charm of Ibiza’s stunning coves and unbeatable beaches. Since Ibiza has more than fifty coves, you don’t want to miss out on exploring them when you rent a boat!

What do I need to rent a boat without a licence in Ibiza?

To rent a boat without a licence in Ibiza you will need to go through a brief introduction with the owner and listen carefully to their advice to get the best out of your sailing experience. If you do not have a sailing licence, you can hire a skipper, or rent a boat that does not require a licence: you can sail your own dinghy with a maximum of 15 hp, or a sailing boat without an engine. By renting a boat without a licence you can't go too far away from the harbour or the coast, but you can sail close to the coast with peace of mind.

How much does it cost to rent a boat without a licence in Ibiza?

Renting a boat without a licence in Ibiza costs from 202 € per day in low season. While in high season it costs from 328 € per day.

What to do in Ibiza?

It is well known that Ibiza attracts a lot of people for its nightlife with lots of fun guaranteed in the summertime. Some of the most famous parties are Flower Power at Pacha or La Espuma at Amnesia.

Some say that Ibiza has the best sunsets on its west-facing side, with several restaurants and clubs offering views. The best days are when there is a lot of wind or after a rainy day. We recommend you enjoy this time of the day when the sun merges with the sea leaving a blanket of colours when you moore at Cala Comte.
Another characteristic of the island is the diversity of its gastronomic and nightlife, frequented by national and international celebrities. We definitely recommend you sample the sausages and stews of the island, including sobrasada, which is somewhat more rustic than Mallorcan but equally delicious.

The architecture of Ibiza is an absolute wonder as you can always see and easily distinguish the features of different cultures such as; the Punics, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs and Catalans. Ibiza has a hippie spirit that is still palpable in its markets, parties and lifestyle which makes it completely unique from its sister islands.

Other nearby sailing areas

  • Salada Cove

Salada Cove is well known for its green surroundings and minimal urbanisation. It is without a doubt one of the most visited coves in Ibiza because of its golden sand and crystal clear water that you certainly don’t want to miss.

  • Conta Cove

This cove is very popular among swimmers, but it is not as quiet as Cala Salada. Its unquestionable beauty attracts many sun dwellers, sunset seekers and you’re going to love it too. Conta Cove is stunning to look at on land and is also a sight to behold aboard your charter boat. The phrase ‘postcard perfect’ springs to mind!

  • Vadella Cove

This cove is a natural area of turquoise waters surrounded by rock walls. The area is easy to access and there are lots to explore in this unique little cove. Many sun worshipers come here to relax throughout the summer months.

  • San Vicente

This cove of calm blue waters is one of the best-equipped sailing areas with services. With some of the best hotels and restaurants right on the beach, you have everything you need within easy reach. It is a very comfortable and pleasant place to spend the day.

  • Gracioneta Cove

Here the waters are calm and transparent. Moreover, the cove is surrounded by rocks and pine trees, making it one of the island's favourite spots. It is one of the smallest coves, barely 30 metres long, and its small size makes it one of the least crowded.

What is the weather like in Ibiza?

The sailing season in Ibiza begins in April and ends in October. In spring and autumn temperatures range between 15 and 25 °C. The summer begins in April and lasts until late October. In midsummer, the average temperatures range between 25 °C and 30 °C during the day. The winters are short, mild and rainy, with average temperatures of 12 °C. How to get to Ibiza?

You can reach Ibiza by sea or air. Ibiza Airport is in the south of the island and 7 km from the city, which you can reach by taxi or bus in about 30 minutes. If you arrive by boat, there are three major ports: the port of Ibiza, the port of Santa Eulàlia and the port of Sant Antoni.  For those travelling by their own boat, you can moor at the island's marinas and yacht clubs. To get around the island more easily, you can rent a car or motorbike or, depending on where you’re coming from, you can bring your own vehicle by boat.

Ibiza and Formentera are perfect for sailing. Many great places and the booklet received from Rumbo Norte was very helpful in terms of where to anchor etc.

Formentera is a beautiful place, Lots of hidden caves to view and some unbelievable beaches to moor up at. We visited the whole of the west coast in a day and had a great time. If you hire a boat this is a must do trip. Only thing to be cautious about is the open sea crossing between Ibiza and Formentera, it can get a little choppy at high wind.

Visit Ibiza and Formentera, particularly the caves for cliff jumping. Reserve a lunch spot in Formentera (Tiburon was amazing) the week before. A tender can pick you up so you are dry upon arrival at the restaurant. Overall the cruise to the isolated beaches and caves was 100% worth the money spent!!!
