We had the most wonderful day and Jochen was an amazing host. Couldn't recommend this more if you have interest in exploring Bodrum from the water. We did a full day 11-6 and had the best experience traveling to remote areas only accessible by boat. Orak Island is a must visit!

Yacht hire in Turkey

Luxury sailing, spectacular sunsets, and breathtaking beaches…this is what awaits you with a yacht charter in Turkey. Discover a beautiful country, full of mosques and spas, and be captivated by its spectacular beaches, with VIP services for the visitors. Visit Istanbul with its charming coastal backdrops and access four different seas with an impressive selection of reefs.
Flexible cancellation or date changes up to 15 days before check-in is allowed on selected boats.  With so many boats and locations for you to explore, we feel sure that you will find a yacht to suit the needs of everyone in your group.

How much does a yacht charter in Turkey cost?

The price of yacht charters vary greatly depending on a number of factors not just in Turkey, but all over the world.  A few of these factors include, the duration of the stay, the amenities on board the yacht, the number of people and where you want to hire it.  Below are some prices based on location.

In Fethiye, yacht charters cost anywhere from £864 a day and £6048 a week.

In Bodrum, prices are similar, starting at £6834 a week, and the prices in Marmaris are a little higher, at £9073 per week

Gocek has a wide range of beautiful vessels, starting from £12184 per week, while in Aydin, you can find higher range vessels going from anywhere around £103735 for a week.

Can I rent a yacht with or without a skipper in Turkey?

Yes, you can rent a yacht either with or without a skipper in Turkey.  However if you want to rent a bareboat charter, there are some rules you need to be aware of.  In Turkey, in order to rent a yacht without a skipper, you will need a Certificate of Competence if your yacht is either motorised or bigger than 2.5 m (8.2 ft).

Renting a yacht without a skipper is a great option for those proficient in sailing.  However, if you want to take your luxurious trip to the next level, and relax while someone else deals with all the technicalities of sailing, you should definitely rent with a skipper.

What are the weather and sailing conditions like in Turkey?

When sailing on a yacht, we seek maximum tranquility and in Turkey, with its usually calm seas, we are sure to have this.  With little waves and with very pleasant temperatures in sailing season, from May to October, you will love the luxury of a yacht holiday. Renting a yacht in Turkey is the perfect choice for those looking to enjoy a paradisaical destination with spectacular views. The Meltemi winds of this zone come from the north, and Lodos winds blow from the southeast. In autumn and winter rain is very common, so you should always look at weather conditions before sailing in Turkey.
You will see very different climates depending on where you go in Turkey, but the average temperature is around 20°C (68°F) and can reach higher than 30°C (86°F) during the summer months.  This coupled with the summer water temperatures ensure a fantastic holiday for anyone who fancies a swim.  Usually in Turkey, August is the driest month, while autumn and winter can get very rainy.

When is the best time to go to Turkey?

Like the price, this depends on a number of different factors.  For the driest weather and the best temperatures, May to October is best.  However, this wonderful weather also brings crowds of tourists which in turn, leads to higher boat prices.  If you don’t mind a bit of rain, therefore, you should go during the winter, when there is more rain, but fewer people, and thus better deals on boats.

What are the best ports and sailing areas in Turkey?

There are so many fantastic sailing areas in Turkey that it can be difficult to know where to start.  We recommend that you start your trip in the port of Milta Bodrum Marina, one of the most prestigious marinas in the Aegean Sea and Mediterranean coast, with 450 moorings available for rental yachts with a maximum of 30 meters in length. It has a complete service for its clients, including wifi, gym, 24 hour security and restaurants.

From here, you can easily sail through Turkey to the best beaches such as Turun beach, one of the quietest for those who seek to rest on its comfortable sand, the beach of Gobun sits comfortably between two gorges or the beach of Antikum in which our photographs will seem to come to life with the mix of colors.

Other marinas of note include Marti Marina, which has a gorgeous backdrop of pine forests climbing up the mountain, and Atakoy Marina, which is very conveniently located close to the airport.  Like with Milta Bodrum Marina, this one has a full range of services, including laundry, ironing and repair services.

What to do in Turkey?

As one of just a few countries to be split across two continents, Turkey has a wealth of different areas just waiting for you to explore them.  A particularly popular area for sailing excursions is the west coast, with the Gulf of Fethiye, Gulf of Gokova and Datca Peninsula all providing ideal sailing conditions, complete with picturesque fishing towns, and ports and marinas with many different services.  You can also stop off in one of the many restaurants along the coast to sample local dishes.
Turun beach is just one of many where you can go during your yacht charter.  This is the ideal location to escape from the crowds of tourists while reading a good book and working on your tan.

In Istanbul, there are many museums you can visit, such as the Aya Sofya Museum, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.  Other must-see attractions include the Topkapi Palace.  This palace was once a powerful base for the Ottoman empire, but now gives you the opportunity to glimpse the life of the sultans who lived there in the past.  If you need a bit of fresh air, the surrounding gardens give you the chance to spend some time out in nature.

How to get to Turkey?

The airports of Istanbul Ataturk, Istanbul Sabiha, Izmir, Ankara, Antalya and Dalaman are all ready to receive international flights if you are looking to arrive by plane. Direct flights reach Turkey from countries all over the world, including the USA, Switzerland, and many UK cities including London.  Another great way to reach Turkey, however, is aboard a yacht from the coasts of Greece and Italy.
