Destination Reviews

Palma de Mallorca is an absolute treasure! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by its stunning beauty, rich history, and vibrant atmosphere. This city has everything you could wish for in a Mediterranean destination. The historic architecture, especially the iconic La Seu Cathedral, is breathtaking. Strolling through the charming old town with its narrow streets, hidden courtyards, and beautiful buildings felt like stepping back in time. The blend of Gothic and Moorish influences gives Palma a unique charm that's impossible to resist. The city is also a paradise for food lovers. We had some of the best meals of our trip here—delicious tapas, fresh seafood, and traditional Mallorcan dishes that were unforgettable. The local markets, especially Mercat de l'Olivar, are fantastic for sampling the freshest produce and regional delicacies. Palma’s marina and seaside promenade offer spectacular views, and we loved walking along the waterfront, taking in the yachts and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Whether you’re into history, shopping, dining, or just relaxing by the water, Palma has something for everyone. The vibe is lively yet relaxed, and the people are incredibly welcoming. It’s the perfect mix of culture, history, and laid-back island living. We couldn’t have asked for a better holiday, and Palma de Mallorca is a place we’ll definitely be returning to!

Palma is a beautiful place with lots to see, the old town and buildings are stunning and there are lots of nice restaurant and hidden roof top bars. I would recommend booking a table for dinner on the weekend as the popular restaurants get busy. Hire a boat for the day and see the coast line. Can’t wait to return.

This was the 2nd time I've sailed aboard the yacht, first with Nacho and then Francisco and both times have been absolutely stellar. The owners are very kind, accommodating, and know the best spots in Mallorca. I will sail with them again for sure.

What to do in Mallorca

Sailing in Mallorca gives you endless possibilities of things to do! Whether you want to dive into the crystal clear waters, enjoy a full day of sail, or personalise your boat trip to go to the different Balearic Islands- the choice is yours.

The Balearic Island offers well-equipped ports for your sailing trip. These include the picturesque Port de Pollença, the historic old town of Port d'Alcúdia, the great golf courses of the Son Severa, the tranquillity and traditional Catalan gastronomy of Portocolom, or the history of Deià.

Charter a sailboat and experience 150 nautical miles of contrast. A particularly charismatic dock is the port of Cala Figuera. You have to get there early because there are only a few sleeping places. The small town convinces with its Catalan flair and countless cosy cafés.

Be inspired by the secrets of the island and enjoy the tranquillity and idyll on a sailing boat. Rent a sailboat in Mallorca and head to the hidden Torrent de Pareis bay. The Torrent de Pareis gorge was declared a natural monument in 2003 because of the impressive formations formed by the rain over time.

Other places of interest are the natural park of S 'Albufera, the quarries of Arta (Cuevas de Arta) and the Cap de Formentor, a great vantage point on the northeastern tip of Mallorca. If you spend the day of arrival or departure in Palma, it is worthwhile to visit the old city.

You can also choose to do a sailboat charter from Palma de Mallorca! Then while sailing around Mallorca, why not check out some of the best beaches on the island? Cala Formentor Beach is a great beach to visit in the evening.

Calo des Moro Beach is another beautiful secluded beach that is difficult to access by land. Making it a great place to visit with your sailing boat hire in Mallorca!

Don’t miss out on your sailboat hire in Mallorca! A one of a kind and personalized experience for you and your family and friends!

How is the weather and sailing conditions in Mallorca?

The weather on the Balearic island is not just a clear blue sky. The volatility usually starts outside the summer months. Sea fog is a phenomenon in spring when the already strong sun makes the cold seawater evaporate. Because the sky is still quite cold, the rising air condenses fairly quickly and thick clouds rise above the sea.

Beware of the threatening winter storms that mainly occur on the north side of the island, since Mallorca is under the influence of the Mistral. The winters, however, are short and mild, with an average temperature of 12°C.

We have saved the good news for last: thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the sailing season is open all year round. Spring and autumn have a pleasant 15 to 25°C. The summer weather is already visible in April and runs until October.

The weather is therefore usually ideal for sailing. Around Mallorca, on a normal summer's day, there is usually enough sailing wind, triggered by thermal effects.
