I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a sailing adventure starting from Skiathos, visiting the beautiful islands of Skopelos and Alonissos. This trip was made unforgettable thanks to our fantastic hosts and instructors, Antoine and Fidess.
From the very beginning, Antoine and Fidess impressed us with their professionalism and extensive knowledge of sailing. They provided clear, concise instructions that made even the novice sailors in our group feel confident and capable. Their passion for sailing was infectious, and their enthusiasm truly enhanced the entire experience.
The journey itself was nothing short of spectacular. The Aegean Sea was our playground, offering breathtaking views and perfect sailing conditions. Skopelos and Alonissos are gems of the Northern Sporades, each with its unique charm and beauty. We explored stunning beaches, quaint villages, and enjoyed the local cuisine, all while learning valuable sailing skills.
Antoine and Fidess were not just instructors but also wonderful companions. They ensured that everyone felt included and comfortable, fostering a friendly and supportive atmosphere on board. Their expertise was evident, and they were always ready to share fascinating stories and tips about the local area and sailing techniques.

Skiathos town is the biggest and most popular settlement of the island! Its waterfront is without a doubt a romantic spot to relax and listen to the clink of the waves against the moored boats.

Take a break from your sailing boat rental in Skiathos and be sure to visit the clocktower in the centre of town and perhaps the art gallery on one of your daily excursions. Skiathos is known to be a hikers paradise with 25 hiking routes with a total length of 200 km, paths under steady control and cleaned, good signposting (you’ll never lose your way…) and experienced trail guides. Why not combine your hike with wine tasting?
As the evening rolls in there are many seaside taverns along the front with fresh seafood to enjoy before getting lost in the narrow alleys of the town.

The climate in Skiathos
From June to mid-September, it is hot and sunny, with rare showers. Typically, the maximum temperatures hover around 30 °C (86 °F) and rarely exceed 33/34 °C (91/93 °F), but the air is a bit humid.
How to get to your sailing boat rental in Skiathos
The airport of Skiathos island is located 3 km from the capital town, on the eastern side of the island. It receives regular internal flights from Athens all year round and the flight time is 30 min. In summer, it also receives many charters and international flights from abroad. Outside the airport, there are taxis to get you to the port.
